Webinar: Hybrid (NFPA 770) Systems

Presentation Outline

The first edition of NFPA 770, Standard on Hybrid (Water and Inert Gas) Fire-Extinguishing Systems, is the 2021 edition. Since halon alternatives were needed, industry responded with a plethora of options – clean agents, inert gas, water mist, and aerosols. But each of these had limitations. Just like chocolate and peanut butter come together to give us a great new result, Reese’s®, industry found that combining some of these new media reduced limitations and increased effectiveness with a 100% Green replacement. Hybrid Media is inert gas + water mist. NFPA began considering these systems in 2012, approved creating a new standard in 2014, and from 2015 to 2021 the committee met to create the first edition of NFPA 770 issued in 2021.
