Inspector/Electronic Fire Systems Installer

JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting and preventive maintenance services. Perform installation service, and repairs on electric fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites. Read and interpret blueprints, diagram submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. Candidate must possess excellent written/verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills; manage daily calls and program system products, including networking and programming. Professional appearance and attitude are a must. NICET Level II certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Maintain professional, timely, communication with customers to assure problem resolution
• Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks
• Monitor and assure the progress and completion of assigned tasks
• Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner
• Be proficient at, and train other less senior inspector/installers on how to follow and maintain a highly structured schedule
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• A working knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems; testing equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, battery analyzer, frequency meter; decibel meter; communication devices.
• NICET I Certification
• State Electrician Certification
• Must have an understanding of fire codes; working knowledge of fire alarm systems, both conventional and addressable; the ability to discern and document deficiencies in the systems being inspected
• Ability to obtain industry licenses required by national, state and local codes.
• Mechanical background
• Able to work overtime, if necessary
• Able to work on ladders and scaffolding
• Military experience a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good compute skills; must be familiar with, Win98, Win2000 or Win XP, and some DOS
• At least 18 years of age
• 2 years previous related experience in a technical field
• Valid CA drivers license; and, a clean driving record required
• Must successfully complete an employment background investigation and drug screening
